Tours @ the Holter Museum of Art
There are four ways to experience the Museum with your students.

Holter Museum Docents conduct engaging, student friendly gallery tours that encourage kids to think creatively while stimulating an interest in contemporary art. Students are invited to look, discover, question, and explore art through lively discussion, careful observation, and hands-on art activities. Talking Art tours are designed for groups of all ages from the very young to senior adults. Groups tour the museum galleries with docents (volunteer educators) exploring each exhibition through questioning, discussion, and a variety of gallery activities. These tours are free of charge.
Thinking Through Art
These innovative tours are designed for students in grades five through eight who have completed lessons in the Visual Thinking Strategies (VTS) program in their classroom. Students break into small groups to tour the museum's galleries with docents using the VTS facilitation method to discuss a series of artworks selected for their developmental appropriateness This program is free of charge. A hands-on art making experience can be added to this tour with $3/child charge.
Self-guided (teacher-led) visits allow teachers to create their own directions for students’ museum experiences. These tours are free of charge. Call to schedule
