Lunar New Year Family Day

Lunar New Year Family Day

Sunday, February 11

Noon to 3:30 p.m.

Celebrate the year of the Dog!  Lunar New Year at the Holter Museum is a fun-filled tradition celebrating this most important holiday in many Asian countries.  Filled with myth and tradition, the Lunar New Year is the longest public holiday with the grandest traditional history of over 4000 years. The Chinese Zodiac designates this as the Year of the Dog. People born in the year of the dog possess the best traits of human nature. They are honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, smart, straightforward, and venerable and have a strong sense of responsibility.

Please join the Holter in collaboration with Helena’s Families with Children from China Group and ExPloration Works! for an afternoon celebrating Asian culture, traditional New Year art activities, treats and more! This event is free for all ages!

Join the Dragon Parade at high Noon, featuring the beautiful dragon created in 2012 by Helena’s youth. The parade begins at Exploration Works! Ending at the Holter Museum where families can celebrate with traditional foods and artsy fun.
