March 1st Friday & Lecture with Carol Novotne

Please join us for our monthly First Friday!

This Month, local painter, carol Novotne will join us and give a lecture on color and value.

“The show is essentially a study of a single object, “The Granary,”  as it appears in different seasons of the year.  What the artist learns, is that the singular object remains the same while the wild and beautiful earth and sky change around it!  Nothing drab, wild shocking color!  Color most artists would not put in a painting because they do not see it as it really is.

I compiled 273 images of this granary over the past 19 years, to learn about color and  value and how light and seasons effect the artist’s eye and therefore how they paint.” -Carol Novotne

The lecture will begin at approximately 5:30

Hope to see you there!
